PUNCHED & FORMED PARTS

Sheet metal brackets, built around the fit.

Mounting brackets and formed supports often come down to a few critical relationships: where the holes land, how the bends locate the faces, and how the part meets its mating components. Send the drawing that defines those relationships.

WHAT TO BRING FOR REVIEW

Common requests in this part family.

These examples describe possible scope. Your drawing and requirements determine the manufacturing review.

01

Mounting brackets

Brackets that locate equipment, components, or accessories. Identify the mounting pattern and the faces or edges used to position the part.

02

Angles & supports

Formed angles and support pieces with one or more bends. Include the required geometry, material, and any load-related design requirements you need reviewed.

03

Interface brackets

Parts that connect two mounting patterns or offset one component from another. Show the mating features and the dimensions that control the installed position.

DRAWING REQUIREMENTS

Make the important relationships clear.

Include the current part number and revision, drawing units, and the details below. See the full drawing checklist for file preparation.

  1. 01

    Hole pattern and locating features

Dimension hole sizes and locations from clear reference edges or datums. Call out slots, threaded features, or hardware separately where they are required.

  2. 02

    Bend geometry

Identify bend angles, direction, and any specified bend radius. State whether dimensions refer to inside faces, outside faces, or other defined surfaces.

  3. 03

    Critical fit dimensions

Mark the dimensions and tolerances that control alignment, clearance, or assembly. Avoid leaving the manufacturing team to infer which relationships matter most.

  4. 04

    Material, thickness, and finish

Specify the material designation, thickness with units, and required finish. Identify cosmetic faces and any surfaces that must remain free of coating.

Material, quantity, and manufacturing route are reviewed together.

Material and thickness availability, bend geometry, tooling, finish, and quantity are reviewed together. Tell us the quantity needed for this run and any expected repeat demand; setup and handling are part of the quoted scope. Nova confirms the manufacturing route, price, and timing after review.

PROTOTYPE TO REPEAT PRODUCTION

Keep the drawing and the next run connected.

The quotation is reviewed for the quantity and requirements you submit.

  1. 01

    Define the first run.

Submit the current drawing, quantity, and requirements. If the part is a prototype or first article, say what you need to evaluate or document.

  2. 02

    Review the complete quote.

Nova reviews manufacturability, setup, handling, applicable partner processes, and timing. Use your private link to review the quotation before accepting it.

  3. 03

    Request the next quantity.

Confirm the same specifications and drawing revision, then request a fresh quote with the new quantity and date. Share expected repeat demand to help plan future work.

BEFORE YOU SUBMIT

Questions about the request.

Can I request a prototype or a production run?

Yes. State the quantity you need now and whether it is a prototype, first article, or production run. Expected future quantities help Nova assess repeatability, but they are planning information rather than a purchase commitment.

Should I send a flat pattern or a formed model?

Provide the files you have and identify which drawing controls the finished part. A formed model can help explain the geometry, while a dimensioned drawing communicates tolerances and requirements. Identify any supplied flat pattern so Nova can review it against the intended bends.

What if the bracket has hardware or welds?

List the hardware and its installation requirements. If the bracket is part of a welded or multi-component assembly, include an assembly drawing and bill of materials and use the assembly review path.

Can I request the same bracket again?

Your private request page lets you request a fresh quote with a new quantity and requested delivery date. Confirm that the same specifications and attached drawing revision still apply. Updated geometry or drawings need a new request with the new files.

YOUR NEXT STEP

Ready to share the drawing?

Submit the current revision and requirements. Pricing, material availability, and production timing are confirmed after review.
