Sheet metal panels with the details in place.
A panel drawing needs to explain both the outline and everything that connects to it. Share the mounting features, cutouts, formed edges, and finish requirements so Nova can review the complete part.
Common requests in this part family.
These examples describe possible scope. Your drawing and requirements determine the manufacturing review.
Mounting panels
Flat or formed panels with holes, slots, and attachment features. Show the reference edges and mounting pattern that establish the part’s position.
Access & equipment panels
Panels that fit an opening or interface with a larger assembly. Include clearances, edge details, and any hardware or fastening requirements.
Faceplates & interface panels
Panels with component openings or a visible finished face. Define the cutouts, orientation, cosmetic surface, and any separate marking requirements.
Make the important relationships clear.
Include the current part number and revision, drawing units, and the details below. See the full drawing checklist for file preparation.
- 01
Outline, cutouts, and orientation
Dimension the overall profile and internal openings. Identify the viewing direction and which side is the front when the features are not symmetrical.
- 02
Mounting and edge details
Show mounting holes, slots, tabs, and formed flanges. Specify edge treatment or deburring requirements and identify any threaded or installed hardware features.
- 03
Flatness and critical locations
State flatness requirements and location tolerances where they matter to fit or function. Include reference datums rather than relying on a visual arrangement of features.
- 04
Appearance and finishing
Identify visible faces, finish type, color or specification, and masking needs. If graphics, labels, or markings are required, include their artwork and placement requirements for review.
Material, quantity, and manufacturing route are reviewed together.
The panel’s size, feature pattern, material, thickness, forming, finish, and quantity affect the manufacturing review. Availability and process suitability are confirmed for your drawing. Share prototype and production quantities separately when you need them evaluated, and include expected repeat demand where known.
Keep the drawing and the next run connected.
The quotation is reviewed for the quantity and requirements you submit.
- 01
Define the first run.
Submit the current drawing, quantity, and requirements. If the part is a prototype or first article, say what you need to evaluate or document.
- 02
Review the complete quote.
Nova reviews manufacturability, setup, handling, applicable partner processes, and timing. Use your private link to review the quotation before accepting it.
- 03
Request the next quantity.
Confirm the same specifications and drawing revision, then request a fresh quote with the new quantity and date. Share expected repeat demand to help plan future work.
Questions about the request.
Can the panel include formed edges?
Include the flange geometry, bend direction, angles, and any specified radii in the drawing. Nova reviews forming together with the hole and cutout pattern so the quote reflects the complete scope.
How should I specify visible surfaces?
Identify the exposed face and the finish standard or appearance requirements that matter. Include coating, grain direction, masking, and handling requirements where applicable; a general color name alone may not define the complete finish.
Does a CAD file define all the requirements?
A CAD file communicates geometry, but it may not communicate tolerances, revision, material, finish, or inspection requirements. Include a drawing or clear written requirements for any information that is not defined in the CAD file.
How do repeat panel runs work?
Keep the released drawing revision with your records. From the private request page, you can confirm the same specifications and drawings and request a fresh quotation for a new quantity and delivery date. Current pricing and timing are reviewed again.
Ready to share the drawing?
Submit the current revision and requirements. Pricing, material availability, and production timing are confirmed after review.
