CNC punching for custom sheet metal parts.

Bring the hole pattern, formed geometry, and finish into one request. Nova Metals reviews CNC punching and downstream operations for brackets, panels, and covers, from a first run to repeat production.

Send your current drawing and the quantities you need. Tooling, material availability, process suitability, and production timing are reviewed before a firm quotation is issued.

PARTS TO BRING FOR REVIEW

From a repeated hole pattern to a formed component.

The complete geometry determines the manufacturing route. Use the part guides to prepare the details that matter to fit and assembly.

01

Brackets and supports

Define mounting patterns, locating faces, bend relationships, and mating clearances. A flat outline alone may not explain the finished fit.

Prepare a bracket request
02

Panels and faceplates

Identify component cutouts, repeated openings, mounting features, and the visible face. Include any required edge or surface appearance.

Prepare a panel request
03

Covers and formed parts

Show the enclosure interface, fastening pattern, and inside clearances. Welds, hardware, or multiple components need a defined assembly scope.

CNC PUNCHING RFQ CHECKLIST

Define the features that control the part.

Include the part number, revision, drawing units, and controlling drawing. Attach up to five files, 20 MB combined. The drawing guide covers supported CAD formats and supporting documents.

  1. 01

    Hole patterns, slots, and profiles

Dimension feature size, spacing, and location from clear datums. Identify repeated patterns, corner radii, and edges where tool marks or appearance matter. Nova reviews feature geometry against material, thickness, and tooling.

  2. 02

    Punching and forming together

Show finished bend angles, direction, and any required radii. Identify holes or cutouts near bends and the dimensions that control the formed part. Mark supplied flat patterns as such and identify the controlling finished-part drawing.

  3. 03

    Material and finished surfaces

Specify the material designation and thickness with units. Include deburring, coating, masking, grain direction, and cosmetic-face requirements. Identify any formed features or installed hardware separately for tooling and process review.

  4. 04

    Quantity and acceptance requirements

Give the batch needed now and useful alternative quantities. Identify critical dimensions, inspection reports, material documentation, or first-article requirements. Include expected repeats as planning context, separate from this order quantity.

Tooling and the complete route need review.

Do not assume a feature, material thickness, or spacing is suitable from a profile alone. If the part needs special tooling, another process, or selected partner operations, Nova reviews that scope with the quotation. Assemblies need an assembly drawing, bill of materials, and weld and finish requirements.

FROM DRAWING TO REVIEWED QUOTE

Keep the price tied to the finished batch.

  1. 01

    Submit the current files.

Select punching or punching and bending in the request. Include material, finish, inspection requirements, batch quantities, and your delivery destination.

  2. 02

    Resolve the manufacturing scope.

Nova reviews tooling, forming, setup, handling, and any outside processes. Clarification questions and responses stay with the private request.

  3. 03

    Review the offered quantity.

Use the reviewed quotation and PDF to assess price and timing. If Nova releases quantity options, compare their batch totals and lead times and explicitly accept one.

NATIONWIDE SHIPPING

Include the destination in the punching quote.

Nationwide shipping is available. Request a quote for delivery to your U.S. destination and include its ZIP code, receiving requirements, and packing needs. Nova confirms feasibility, freight, and timing in the reviewed quotation.

Note delivery appointments, receiving hours, part-identification labels, and protection needed for finished surfaces. These details help define the complete delivered scope before acceptance.

BEFORE YOU REQUEST A QUOTE

Questions about punched sheet metal parts.

Can I include bends and finishing in the same request?

Yes. Define the finished geometry and operations you need. Include bend details, deburring, finish specifications, visible faces, and masking. Nova reviews the combined manufacturing route and confirms included work in the quotation.

Should I specify punching or leave the process open?

If a manufacturing process is required, say so. Otherwise, describe the finished-part requirements and any restrictions. Nova can review the proposed route against the drawing; submitting a CAD file does not automatically establish process suitability.

Can I compare prototype and production quantities?

List the quantities you could use and identify any first-article stage. Nova may release separately reviewed quantity options with exact prices and lead times. Only the options actually issued in the current quotation are available for acceptance; annual forecasts do not establish standing prices.

How do I source this part for an OEM production program?

Bring your revision controls, acceptance requirements, expected batches, and supplier-onboarding needs. The OEM sheet metal sourcing guide covers qualification and receiving, while the repeat-production guide explains subsequent requests.
